Only yesterday, we had reported about actor Vivek joining the cast of Ajith's Viswasam and how the team is gearing up for its next schedule at Hyderabad and Telengana. Now, another update on the film is being widely reported which suggests that Viswasam, which started off as a release planned for Diwali, 2018 will now hit theatre screens for Pongal, 2019. The unprecedented TFPC strike which lead to the film having a delayed start, is said to be the reason behind the pushing of release date. With this development Ajith may have avoided a box-office clash with Vijay's Sarkar and Suriya's NGK but might possibly be colliding with another major star, Rajinikanth.
As one may recall, Rajini's 2.0 which has been a work-in-progress for a long time now (during which Kabali, Kaala were released), is finally expected to see the light of the day in 2019 and trade analysts predict that if ready, then the makers would want to utilize the first major holiday of the year i.e Pongal. Since both these films haven't made any official anouncements yet, it is to be seen which one of the stars' fans will get to see their favourite actor on screen that time of the year.
Viswasam is directed by Siva and has Ajith playing dual role of brothers in it. Produced by Sathya Jyothi Films, the film has Nayanthara playing female lead and Kovai Sarala, Robo shankar, Thambi Ramaiah, Yogi Babu, Jangiri Madhumitha, Ramesh Tilak and Bose Venkat playing supporting roles. The film is touted to be an action entertainer and will be shot at the rural backdrops of Orissa, Pune and Punjab in the coming days.
