STR is all set to release a new single. The song titled "Periyar Kuthu" will be out soon. Madhan Karky has penned the lyrics while the music has been scored by Ramesh Thamilmani. The poster announcing the single release features the Tamil political and social leader Periyar. 

The shoot of STR's upcoming film Chekka Chivantha Vaanam directed by Mani Ratnam is progressing at a brisk pace. Actor Simbu, who is known for raising his voice against several issues, recently released a video where he strongly condemned the Sterlite Protest Shootout and lashed out the government for the tragic event.
