As is known, the 'silent protest' by the Nadigar Sangam against inaction in issues like Cauvery Management Board, Sterlite ban and the continuation of IPL cricket matches at Chennai witnessed actor Sathyaraj getting emotional and stating, "No matter whose governance it is, we will not get scared. Even if the army is deployed, we will not be scared..Those who have the courage to speak out, stand in support of the Tamils. Else run and hide yourselves."
Assuming Sathyaraj's statements to be aimed at the Tamil leaders of the ruling government BJP, much-in-the-news BJP leader Tamilisai Soundararajan took a sarcastic dig at the actor by pointing out the apology video Sathyaraj issued on demand of the pro-Kannadiga outfit exactly a year ago (watch video here). She tweeted,"Goosebumped at the courage of a self-respected Tamilian who apologised in Bangalore only so his film Baahubali could run!" Added to this, a news channel quoted her as attacking Sathyaraj's army line by stating, "In the event of an IT raid, we will know how he will get scared!"

And earlier today, when the Tamil film directors held a press meet regarding their plans to protest against IPL Cricket matches, actor Sathyaraj counter-attacked Tamilisai Sundararajan and said, "Look at the sort of threats I am getting. I am working for 40 years in the film industry and haven't had an IT raid so far in my career. I have got a IT raid threat following my speech on the Cavery issue. I don't known why they are scared of me. I don't have any political ambitions. It is my duty to give my voice for any problems faced by the people of Tamil Nadu."
Sathyaraj was backed by industry fellow, director Ameer who seemed to be taking a jab of his own at a certain 'big actor' and stated, "If they(BJP) want to do an IT raid, they should do it for the big actors who are in support of them as they wouldn't get anything from the raid here. They are welcome to raid our houses."
