Mahanati, a biopic on legendary actress Savitri is one of the most awaited films. The makers have announced the release date of the film on the occassion of Ugadi. The film will release on May 9, 2018. The multilingual film is directed by Nag Ashwin. The film stars Keerthy Suresh in the titular role as Savitri. Keerthy Suresh took to her Twitter page and wrote:

The film also features Dulquer Salmaan (as Gemini Ganesan), Samantha Ruth Prabhu (as Jamuna), Anushka Shetty (as Bhanumati), Mohan Babu as SV Ranga Rao, Vijay Devarakonda, Shalini Pandey, and Prakash Raj as writer, producer and director Aluri Chakrapani. The film is called Nadgayar Thilagam in Tamil. Mahanati is produced by Priya Dutt's Vyjayanthi Movies Banner.
