Kamal Haasan is absolutely stupid to invest in Harvard Tamil Chair : Shiva Ayyadurai

 

The fraternity and fans have hardly come out of Kamal Haasan's shocking announcement of retirement from "acting" that another head-line seems to be shrouding the Ulaganayagan. In a video that is slowly gaining momentum among the online users, well known Indian-American scientist and entrepreneur Dr. Shiva Ayyadurai has made some explosive statements on both Kamal Haasan and the Harvard Tamil Chair. It is worth mentioning here that Shiva Ayyadurai has earlier claimed to be the inventor of email (he still does), raised an objection with the working conditions of CSIR India, questioned the safety of genetically modified Soya beans - all of which lead to highly followed media controversies in the tech domain.

In this said video too, Shiva Ayyadurai, who once hailed Kamal Haassan as the 'grand hero of Tamil cinema' holds back no words while exposing the system of "Harvard" and how it benefits the people who "invest in them". He slams Harvard as a Hedge-fund that is demanding $6 million (Rs. 38 crore +) from the Tamilians, and alleges that the university will only misuse the findings provided by them. He claims that people who invest huge chunk of money will gain through the "legacy admissions", which constitutes to 30 percent of in-take in the world's most prestigious university. And when he tags the celebrities investing their money into this as "not so smart" and attributes their motive to "boosting their own equity", the journalist questions him if he means "Kamal Haasan is stupid to invest in Harvard Tamil Chair". Shiva Ayyadurai replies, "Oh yes, he's absolutely stupid!"


Shiva Ayyadurai's statements seem to be coming from the fact that Kamal Haasan donated Rs. 20 lakh towards the chair and chose Harvard as his recent forum to speak about his much-publicised political ambitions. The Harvard Tamil Chair in response have been circulating a letter through their social media handles claiming that their efforts will not be stopped. Further their comments section holds a statement that reads : “Harvard University is working on legal actions against the individuals who are slandering its name with respect to Tamil Chair. This has been communicated by Harvard officials in a conversation with Tamil Chair Inc.”
