Deepika Padukone's Padmaavat crosses 200 crore mark at the box office

'Padmaavat', which was embroiled in controversies for over a year, finally hit the theatres on January 25, 2018.  The film received rave reviews from all quarters and has been doing very well at the Box Office. It has crossed the 200 crore net after 11 days of its release. 

According to reports, the magnum-opus has netted Rs. 212 crore . Despite widespread protests against it and no screening in few states (Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh), Sanjay Leela Bhansali's epic period drama Padmaavat has turned out to be an absolute winner at the Indian box office. 

Padmaavat is expected to become the highest grossing film for Deepika leaving behind the record set by 'Chennai Express'. The film stars Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmavati, Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji and Shahid Kapoor as Maharawal Ratan Singh.
