MovieCrow Box Office Report - May 19 to 21

Although into its fourth weekend, SS Rajamouli's magnum opus Baahubali 2 continued to rule the box office across all the centres. Jiiva's Sangili Bungili Kadhava Thorae took a decent opening in spite of the mixed reviews. Check out the box office ranking of Tamil movies in Chennai during last weekend.u

1. Baahubali 2

Baahubali 2 continued its domination across multiplexes and single screens as people continued to celebrate the movie. The movie also crossed the worldwide gross of Rs 1500 crore recently.

 
2. Sangili Bungili Kadhava Thorae

The evening and night shows of debutant director Ike's SBKT were sold out across many multiplexes, as the movie broke the dry spell after Baahubali 2's release. However, we will have to wait and see how the movie sustains amidst mixed reviews this week.

3. Saravanan Irukka Bayamen

Saravanan Irukka Bayamen has got to be Udhayanidhi Stalin's weakest film in terms of presentation and engagement. The movie's occupancy level continued to dip across the city.

Other Movies

In spite of the positive reviews, Lens and Yeidhavan couldn't sustain at the box office due to lack of star power.

Upcoming week's releases

Samuthirakani's Thondan and Radha Mohan's Brindhavanam will be hitting the screens on May 26.
