Badrinath Ki Dulhania based on Dowry System?

Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt will be seen romancing onscreen for the third time in Badrinath Ki Dulhania. 

However, there are a lot of speculations about the movie’s theme. It’s been reported that the film’s story will focus on evils of dowry in the country.

A source revealed, “The film deals with the dowry issues in North India, and Alia and her older sister are the victims of dowry system in the film. Varun is likely to play the role of a small town guy from Kanpur.”

Shashank Khaitan has written the story and will be directing it. Produced by Dharma Productions, the film will release on 10th March 2017.
