Alia-Varun Once Again Prove, They Are The New-age Raj-Simran

hashank Khaitans attempt at giving it a small town twist works in this case, considering his focus on dowry and patriarchy thats pre-dominant in these societies. Whats good is that in spite of a message to give, the film at no point becomes didactic, it keeps its original motive of entertainment, high at times with the songs and dialogues.(more)

Its grand, with good music, great people and delicious food for thought.

Together, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt are the best thing that could have happened to our screens. The beautiful effortlessness of their onscreen companionship plasters a grin on your face. Dhawan as Badri is adorable; you instantly take to him. He even pulls off some high-drama scenes impressively. Bhatt, unsurprisingly, gives it her all, and her sincerity comes through. But her accent, casually swinging between Juhu and Jhansi, is bothersome at times.(more)

Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatts crackling chemistry makes the film watchable

The film has a good blend of comedy and drama. Despite a comic touch to his role, Varun manages to make you feel for his character. This is a movie where Dhawan Jr is the most endearing. And yes, the Tamma Tamma song is placed at the perfect point, just before the filmmaker is about to lose out interest that is.(more)

BADRINATHKIDULHANIA is a beautifully textured love story that wins you over and keeps you hooked.

Shashank Khaitan (after having directed HUMPTY SHARMA KI DULHANIA) springs up yet another winner in the form of BADRINATH KI DULHANIA, a film that sees him improved immensely as compared to his last film. Full marks to him for ensuring that BADRINATH KI DULHANIA enjoys a distinct and individual identity of its own and does not suffer from a Humpty Sharma hangover. Shashank Khaitan, who wins you over with his extremely eloquent direction, has kept the films narrative lucid and relatable, without resorting to any kind of over the top situations or incidents. Entertainingly Meaningful

Director Shashank Khaitan comes up with an interesting tale set in the heartland of India with a taboo topic of dowry, but well coated it with sweet romance and good amount of entertainment attached to it. He highly succeeds in the first half of the film, where one can feel the strong undercurrent going behind the comical scenes followed by the whole message in the second half.(more)

Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan offer a pitch-perfect entertainer

arun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt are surrounded by a bunch of able actors, all of whom are given things to do. Of special note is a terrific act by Sahil Vaid as the Heros Best Friend, who bids fair to be the best part of the film. Apart, of course from Bhatt, who manages to pull off a pitch-perfect performance as the dulhaniya with a mind and will of her own. Dhawan is good too, as the entitled wealthy boy-who-may-never-turn-into-man, and then finding his feminist feet. He is unafraid to give his heart away, and admit to it, and shed tears when it is time. (more)

Varun and Alia's crackling chemistry works wonders for this desi love story!

BKD has some heavy duty scenes that allow Varun and Alia to showcase their acting chops. Both have already established their versatility in different genres, which makes their performances in BKD even more endearing. As the naive, bumbling village buffoon in the first half Varun engages you with his goofiness. It doesn't take him too long to change gear and show his serious side in the second half as the narrative takes a dramatic turn. (more)

It will make you LOL, cry, and fall in love with the love story

Badrinath Ki Dulhania is one such movie that will make you smile, laugh, cry, and again smile in a span of 2 hours and 20 minutes. From good humour and touching moments to romance and well-written script, it has all the elements of a wonderful movie. The first part of the film is filled with funny sequences and the second part deals with emotional aspects. The director is smart enough to include witty instances just when you might feel that it is getting too emotional. (more)
