Official: Rajini Murugan joins pongal race

Sivakarthikeyan's Rajini Murugan, which was initially slated for release on December 4, got postponed due to recent flood in Chennai. The makers have now officially confirmed that the movie will be releasing on January 14 for Pongal. 

The movie starring Sivakarthikeyan and Keerthi Suresh in the lead role is directed by Ponram of Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam fame. Music is by D.Imman. The movie is produced by Lingusamy's Thirupathi Brothers. 

Meanwhile, Jayam Ravi's Miruthan has backed out of Pongal race, according to reliable sources. Bala's Tharai Thappattai, Sundar C's Aranmanai 2 and  Vishal's Kathakali are other movies which are scheduled to release on Pongal 2016.
