Theeya Velai Seiyyanum Kumaru is a fun ride and one-time watch film.

Siddharth brings in a lot of energy to his role and his chemistry with his co-stars are wonderful. Hansika Motwani, who is called as Chinna Khushboo, looks sweet and impresses you with her innocent face at parts.(more)

Rollicking Comedy

Sundar C has made a film without any double-meaning dialogues or slapstick comedy. TVSK is quite funny, to be honest not too complicated and indulgent. This engaging rom-com is sharply written, avoids cliches and the interesting twists are truly funny and entertaining. The pace is fast and the jokes come at furious speed. (more)

Theeya Velai Seiyyanum Kumaru is predictable

Theeya Velai Seyyanum Kumaru fails on many counts, the primary being the lead actors and their lackluster performance. Though a refreshing concept, that of a love guru, instead of the usual hero's buddy, who hangs around with him, giving useless tips to woo the girl, the film is still quite boring and predictable. Though the lead actors fail, Santhanam does manage to make an otherwise dull and average script watchable.(more)

With Santhanam in great form, TVSK is another comedy special to add to Sundar C's impressive resume.

Santhanam is the dominant presence as expected and after the interval, when we come to know of the twist in his equation with Hansika, things really heat up. He looks dashing as Mokia, the high profile love guru who charges a bomb and even gives cupid tips to the likes of Arya and Vishal.(more)

After tasting success with 'Kalakalappu' last year, he comes up with another winner in 'Theeya Velai Seyyanum Kumaru'

If the movie works despite its predictable storyline, it is because of the terrific effort put in by the supporting cast comprising Bosskey, RJ Balaji, Devadarshini, Jennifer and the employees at the IT company, though one would give an arm and a leg to work in an organization that is more bothered about party dress codes than software codes.(more)

About a half-hour of laughs

Theeya Velai Seiyyanum Kumaru at least has better one-liners, borderline surreal non sequiturs - and all of them are entrusted with RJ Balaji. ("Cycle-la kaathu illa, Ernakulathula vaathu illa".) Santhanam, in comparison, comes off a tad stale, with his now-patented mix of alliteration and rhyme. The story has to do with a wallflower (Siddharth) who's forced to hire the services of a "love guru" (Santhanam) in order to get the girl of his dreams. (more)
