Less About The Dish, More About The Ambience Of The Restaurant!
The profanity does seem like a ploy to shock but then it also works to establish the maturity level of the characters. They are these violent creatures on the outside but inside they still seem to be kids, who are fascinated to spell out forbidden words with glee. Though you do not really identify with most characters, you feel as though you are with them in their vicinity and the technical team deserves accolades for this.(more)

A first-rate cinema experience. You wish it had a little more pulp
In Kadaseela Biriyani, the subtext is the main text where the construction of the said events morphs into an allegory on hunters being hunted. Like in Aaranya Kaandam, there are no rules in Nishanth�s interpretation of this jungle, where the only rule is: survival. (more)

A finely made film and it's taste will linger in your mouth for a long time!
The film does have its share of flaws but they're minuscule in nature. The general audience might have engagement issues with the film, but once you cross that barrier, there's a Biriyani feast awaiting you from Nishanth and team. (more)

Kadaseela Biriyani is a thrilling and funny new-age film
Lijo Jose Pellissery meets Guy Ritchie in Nishanth Kalidindi's Kadaseela Biriyani, which is full of cinematic vigour and keeps us hooked from start to finish. The film unfolds like a thriller with a darkly comic vibe and is filled with colourful characters. Despite Periya Pandi's simmering rage, the Pandi Brothers come across as bumbling men who have gotten into something that is way out of their league. The antagonist is a man so violent that he at once feels terrifying and caricaturish.(more)

Brilliantly shot, bizarre indie thriller with a heart
The Malayalam dialogues are slightly difficult to grasp if one doesn�t know the language but as the story progresses and one gets the hang of what's happening, things get easier. The film tries to redefine masculinity through the film's four lead characters, including the menacing Hakkim Shah, who plays the foul-mouthed antagonist. Also, the effective use of dark humour in the most unexpected situations adds to the film's appeal.(more)

A dark, yet hilarious film
Despite being filled with newcomers, this film pleasantly surprises by delivering a finished product. The editing of Ignaitious Aswin and the cinematography of Azeem Mohammed and Hestin Jose Joseph deserve much praise. (more)

An amusing thriller
As discussed earlier, it takes some time for us to relate to the characters but once we know who are they, things become interesting. Especially, the entire episode of the Paandi brothers who enter into the house of the old man and sketch a plan to kill him. Hakkim Shahjahan's character arc is also quite interesting and he has delivered a brilliant performance. Among the Paandi brothers, Vasanth Selvam is super impressive but Vijay Ram, who plays Chikku Pandi is not up to the mark. (more)
