A Suspense Filled, Murder-Mystery Ride With An Emotional Subplot That Works!

Lock Up is by far one of the better Tamil OTT releases and has a bunch of positives and negligible negatives. Venkat Prabhu and Vaibhav alongside Poorna and Eswari Rao steer the ship home and give us a fairly engaging crime drama with a good mystery angle from the point of view of the various characters. Given the potpourri of characters and contradicting scenarios in the plot, there were chances of narration going haywire. But the lack of evident loopholes and engaging non-linear narration with twists at regular intervals make it an interesting watch. (more)

Lockup is an engaging crime thriller, with a flurry of twists and turns.

Being a crime thriller, 'Lockup' indeed does justice to its genre. There is no much deviation from the plot and it indeed makes you glued to the screen for the entire duration of 1 hour and 46 minutes. The screenplay maintains a steady pace and as the movie gets going, it only gets faster. (more)

A predictable but surprisingly engaging investigative thriller

Lock Up is a praiseworthy attempt in the investigative thriller space. It's also one of the better Tamil films among the recent direct OTT releases. Even though the writing is amateurish at places, you don't nitpick because the film never gets outright boring and manages to keep us engaged.(more)
