An Apt Title!
An interesting core that gets lost in a film that is not sure on what it wants itself to be. Thimiru Pudichavan is an apt title that should suit both the makers and someome like me who braved through the film.(more)

Thimiru Pudichavan is a routine cat-and-mouse game between a brainy cop who also flexes muscles and a dreaded criminal.
A decent screenplay that doesn't resort to weird histrionics and exaggerated action scenes would have made the film a better watch. The lack of unnecessary duet songs and annoying comedy track are a relief though. (more)

a tedious and almost forgettable film
Vijay Antony isn't particularly known for his acting skills. In fact, a character in the film jokingly calls him 'straight-faced'. This unbearable cop film tests your patience
The only good thing about the film is, it has a role for a transgender person in a dignified way. Despite the pressing situation, her character doesn't wallow in self-pity but stands up and conveys something important to the society. Otherwise, there is nothing that one can really look for in this loosely-written script.(more)

Vijay Antony excels in this overblown cop action-drama with a social message
Thimiru Pudichavan is a conventional cop movie wrapped in old-fashioned filmmaking to send home a done-to-death social message in the good vs. bad space. How Thimiru Pudichavan differs from other formulaic cop films is its treatment and portrayal of the men in uniform, which is the only saving grace.(more)
