NAGESH THIRAIYARANGAM MOVIE REVIEW

The film is intriguing until this point, but turns into a mess with confusing sequences and a tiring flashback. The scenes where the characters who appear in Aari's dreams end up getting killed for real evinces curiosity, but arent executed effectively to keep the audience engaged. Can be enjoyed only in parts!

Technically, Naushad's cinematography and Srikanth Deva's rerecording (though a bit loud) go well with the theme of the film. However, song placement could have had some forethought. CG work too needs improvement. Had the director concentrated on the taut screenplay and edited the unwanted portions, the film, which had all the potential, would have become a substantial horror film. Now, it can be enjoyed only in parts!(more)

Not so haunting

Nagesh Thiraiyarangam is a palpable horror movie; watch it for the lead actors Aari's natural acting performances, Kaali Venkat's minimal yet effective comedy and Athulya's characterization.(more)
