Indru Netru Naalai - Promising Debut

Ravikumar shows you promise and looks adept at handling this genre. The biggest problem with sci-fi in regional cinema is the authenticity. You have to get the setting absolutely right. The CG in INN is extremely good. Nothing out of the world but the Time machine itself looks very much believable and real. (more)

A well executed sci-fi film

All science fictions are vulnerable to being questioned by the audiences about the logic; after all it is the axiom of the relationship that a sci-fi maker shares with his audience. Director Ravikumar's screenplay is just flawless; the complex concept of time travel is executed in a simple fashion with interesting situation which is the major strength of the movie. A sci-fi movie that is quite fun though a bit overlong

Time travel movies can be a lot of fun and that is something that debutant director Ravikumar seems to have realized straightaway. There is a lot of humour in Indru Netru Naalai, and much of it comes out organically the comedy scenes are very much part of the plot. (more)

A time-travel thriller with more comedy than thrills

The director, Ravi Kumar, begins with a gnomic Kurt Vonnegut quote from Slaughterhouse-Five: "All moments, past, present and future, always have existed, always will exist." And he continues to 'explain' throughout the film the sci-fi nuts and bolts that rivet this story. So, yes, theres the inevitable amount of spoon-feeding but the surprise is how smoothly it all goes down. Theres always something clever. Take the scene that contains a long, involved conversation between two scientists about the time machine. (more)
