Vivek's one man show keep us fairly engaged

A poor priest Bala gets into a critical financial situation to rescue his father. A local goon helps him and becomes his 'friend in need'. In return Bala makes him a nice human being. A situation arises where Bala has to choose either friendship or his love interest. Bala's decision gives us the climax. (more)

Dated, less absorbing and doesn't meet current standards

Naan Than Bala is an old tale of Dharma's triumph over evil that doesn't engage you well enough and is kind of preachy at places, but with a very heartfelt performance from Vivek.(more)

Naan Thaan Bala : writing and direction are plain amateurish

Kannan, never really has a grip on this material. Bala might be the good guy here but the central character should have been Poochi and the drama should have arisen from his two relationships(more)
