Test of Endurance
Vishnuvardhan's screenplay and direction are a big let-down. The parallel scene constructions for Arya and Kreshna to establish their respective characterization as the story bounces back and forth in first half. After the lead characters come together after long build-up, there is no spark nor chemistry between the two lead heroes in the second half. The movie takes too long to get to the point as the script fails to engage at every stage of the movie. (more)

Screenplay Makes The Plot Look Middling
Yatchan takes its time to settle down in the first half as the core plot is revealed only toward the interval block. Though the stage is plonked for a racy second half, the latter half of the movie is just passable with draggy screenplay at some places. (more)

Watchable with its share of suspense and laughter
Yatchan is not a film that might put a smile on your face when you leave the cinema hall but at the same time it is not a film that would make you regret either. (more)

An action-comedy that is let down by a weak screenplay
The movie is touted as an action comedy and it has both action and comedy - but the storyline is really not gripping. It's a simple case of mistaken identity and what happens when the two men (Arya and Kreshna) end up meeting. Though Vishnuvardhan has added some twists here and there to keep the audience guessing, the movie drags in parts and the screenplay falters.(more)

Yatchan is monotonous
The narration takes its own sweet time to get to the crux of the matter and despite the build up in the first half, the second is a disappointment. Everyone is given equal attention, but there are far too many unnecessary and weird characters, whose desperate attempts to evoke laughter falls flat. (more)

A bit of comedy, thrill and action here and there
The plot just suffers too many sequences like this which is not filled with the apt ingredients. Somehow the use of Thala references is becoming a trend and one too many has been essayed in 'Yatchan'.(more)
