Get ready for some preaching!

Prakashraj's role does not emerge as meaty as it sounds and is anything but challenging for the actor. Santhanam deserves a special mention for largely underplaying his character. Kanja Karuppu isn't too bad either. Simbudevan seems to have begun making an attempt to classify the movie - either into a children's movie or a full-length all-class comedy entertainer- and then given up in the end, leaving his comedy with an identity crisis.(more)

It isn’t laughter all the way.

Simbudevan's screenplay sees to it that no confusion arises. His intelligent dialogue is another redeeming feature. Admirably, every character big and small has individuality and each of them is practical. It is child's play for Prakash Raj and the brilliant strokes he executes with his mellowed down reactions will be remembered for long. Santhanam and Karuppu do reasonably well, but the onus sits too heavy on their frail shoulders. Madhumitha scores with her taciturnity and traditional look, Jyotirmayi is natural. (more)

Pure fun.

They say good packaging is half the work done. And this holds true for Arai En 305il Kadavul. For Kanja Karuppu and Santhanam, these roles are by far their meatiest. But the movie undoubtedly belongs to Prakashraj. Chimbhudevan, with his screenplay and script has done a mammoth job of narrating the story, and it shows in every frame. The director has taken great pains to steer away from cliches. Vidhyasagar's music hits the spot, making sure your attention never deviates from the movie. (more)

Audiences of all age groups will love this intriguing fare!

Both Santhanam and Kanja Karuppu have offered noteworthy performances. With elan, Prakashraj shines in any role, big or small. Unquestionably, he is the highlight of Arai En... Both Jyothirmayee and Madhumitha have done neat jobs. Soundararajan's camera and Sasikumar's art are two more notable features in the movie. Vidyasagar's simple and lively tunes are soothing. Simbudevan's dialogues are a big plus for Arai En. The dialogues are punchy in addition to being preachy in certain places. (more)
