An amateurish attempt

The second half scenes involving a bunch of people from 'Kana Kanum Kaalangal' and Sasikumar's urbane makeover act are examples of the director's insipid vision. The movie ends with a very gory and disturbing climax, which adds salt to the injury.(more)

Strictly for those who favor amma sentiment and rural violence

The film travels on an excessive manipulative melodrama most of the time. And if you are the type who would go gaga over mother sentiment, mindless violence, punch dialogues, Kuttipuli may work for you.(more)

Kutti Puli lacks drama!

Sasikumar tries hard to look menacing and cool at the same time but scores partially. The comic sidelights liven up a cliche-ridden drama

A major problem is that the villain is so ill-defined. He's just another thug when he needed to be larger than life, a mythical monster, and his demise - no spoiler there if you've ever seen a masala movie - doesn't carry the weight it should. And it doesn't help that he vanishes for long stretches.(more)
