Samantha who was roped into play the female lead in Mani Ratnam’s upcoming film ‘Kadal’ is no more a part of the project. Samantha who was very happy and excited to be associated with Mani Ratnam’s film has now opted out of the film citing date issues. The actor who is part of many big projects in Tamil and Telugu like Neethane En Ponvasanthan (Tamil and Telugu), Eega (Tamil and Telugu) and two other films in Telugu had to forego her most ambitious project as she couldn’t accommodate the dates.

Kadal directed by Mani Ratnam stars Gautham in the lead along with Aravind Samy, Arjun, Lakshmi Manchu in pivotal roles. The shooting of Kadal began in March and has been progressing well. The team is in the process of finding the right replacement for Samantha. We need to wait to know who will be Kadal’s heroine!
