Bombay Velvet gets U/A certificate after intimate scenes toned down

Bombay Velvet censor details

Censor Board’s Revising Committee (RC) has cleared Anurag Kashyap’s next directorial venture ‘Bombay Velvet’ starring Anushka Sharma, Ranbir Kapoor and Karan Johar with a U/A certificate, but only after they edited out a liplock from the movie.

Earlier the censor board had refused to clear ‘Bombay Velvet’ with the UA certificate due to the abusive language, excessive violence and kissing scenes. The Revising Committee, however, passed the movie with UA certification with three cuts.

According to reports, Anurag Kashyap had to agree to delete 2 cuss words, 'son of a bitch', and 'haramzada'. Not just that, the long kissing scenes between Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma will also have to be edited out from the film. The RC were of the opinion that the kissing scenes were too bold not suitable for audience below the age of 18. With a week away from release, Anurag Kashyap accepted the certification and agreed to chop out those scenes.

Bombay Velvet directed by Anurag Kashyap starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Karan Johar in the lead roles is one of the most awaited films this year. It is set to hit the screens on May 15.
