Lakshmi Rai debuts in Bollywood with AR Murugadoss's Akira

Southern actress Lakshmi Rai is set to make her Bollywood debut in a special appearance in A.R. Murugadoss's upcoming film “Akira“, which features Sonakshi Sinha in the lead role. The actress has already joined the team on sets. “It was great experience 2 share my screen space with Anurag kashyap versatile actor director and multi talented,” she posted. 

The film, a thriller, is currently on floors here and is produced by Fox Star Studios. “Akira” will also feature Sonakshi’s father and veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha in an important role.

The movie highlights a strong social message and it focusses on the safety of women, the burning issue which the country is currently facing. ‘Akira’ is Murugadoss’s first original script in Hindi.
