Bombay Velvet Trailer Review

Retro, stylish, sepia toned, snazzy- words that pop up in your head the moment Anurag Kashyap's Bombay Velvet trailer ends. Starring Ranbir, Anushka and Karan Johar in the lead roles, Bombay Velvet opened to the public with its first look to a spectacular reception. Trending on twitter all day, the film seems all set to hit the bulls eye. 

As far as trailers go, Bombay Velvet gives us a glimpse into the films world- Bombay or yore, guns, smugglers, jazz and all. The period set piece is tantalizingly teased to us, leaving us asking for more. Ranbir looks suave, earnest, Anushka sizzles in what appears to be a role of a jazz singer, KJo pouts his way to glory making us sit up and take notice. 

Interestingly, the film does not have the usual Anurag Kashyap stamp of being low on budget and earthy, it is as mainstream as any Bollywood masala pot-boiler, richly mounted and shot. One can only wait for more of the film to be let out in the form of songs and dialogues for May is not so far away.
