PK beats Dhoom 3's record at Box Office

PK has been raking in the moolah ever since its release. The strong positive word of mouth has helped in boosting the collections and the film is doing wonders at the Box Office much to the delight of the makers and the trade. With the film doing spectacular business, the national holiday Christmas has helped it soar higher.

Saturday - Rs. 30.34 cr

Sunday - Rs. 38.44 cr

Monday - Rs. 21.22 cr

Tuesday - Rs. 18.85 cr

Wednesday – Rs. 19.55 cr

Thursday – Rs. 27.55 cr

Total – Rs. 183.09 cr

PK beats Dhoom 3

At the end of Week 1, the film has surpassed the collections of Dhoom 3 which is the highest grossing film in Bollywood till date. PK which minted Rs. 183. 09 cr in its first week is now holding the record for the highest opening week collection in Bollywood ever. PK has registered the highest ever Christmas holiday collections. While PK has earned Rs. 27.55 cr on Christmas, earlier Dhoom 3 had minted Rs. 25.52 cr on the holiday.

Dhoom had collected Rs. 188.98 cr in its opening week which includes the collections of its Tamil and Telugu versions as well. The Hindi version of Dhoom 3 alone had collected Rs. 178.97 crores in its first week. Based on the collections made in Hindi, the record set by Dhoom 3 has been broken by PK. 

PK beats Bang Bang Record

PK has now surpassed the lifetime collection of Bang Bang which stands at Rs. 181.03 cr. The film is now the third highest grossing film in Bollywood this year next to Happy New Year and Kick. 

With the kind of response the film has received, PK is expected to shatter more records in the coming weeks.
