Bollywood Director Aanand L Rai of Tanu Weds Manu fame  will direct Dhanush in his next film, Raanjhnaa, set against the backdrop of Banaras. The film and characters travel to Delhi, Punjab, Chennai, etc. The director said that he booked Dhanush after watching Aadukalam and before Kolaveri happened. Dhanush dismissed any concerns about not knowing Hindi as "The problem is not language. It's culture. I will learn the culture and the language will come automatically." 

Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan is getting busy with his next movie, Thalaivan Irukiran, a film that takes a dispassionate look at the legitimisation of corruption in present-day India. The other angle explored is the invisibility of global crime lords in the era of technology. Kamal Haasan had created this script 2 years ago and he had set aside the script since it required great intellectual and financial inputs. Kamal believes he is now ready on both counts. Th movie will be simultaneously released in Hindi as Amar Hain.
