Haider wins People's Choice Award at Rome Film Festival
Vishal Bhardwaj's 'Haider' won the People's Choice Award at Rome Film Festival. It is the first Indian film to have won this award at the Film Festival.
Haider, an adaptation of William Shakespeare's tragedy Hamlet, has bagged the People's Choice Award in the world category at the ninth edition of Rome Film Festival.
The film, which is set in the backdrop of Kashmir, stars Shahid Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Tabu, Irrfan Khan and Kay Kay Menon in pivotal roles. The critically acclaimed film was released in India on October 2.
Shahid, along with director Bhardwaj had attended the film festival in Italy. Shahid shared the news on his Twitter page.
