Ask Laska song based on Shankar Theme

Just like how "ask laska" song lyrics have an interesting theme of expressing love in 16 languages, the song picturization is also based on the central theme of Shankar's concept songs. The songs were shot in 3 European countries and by renting expensive equipment such as Jimmy Jibs.

'Kumari ' from Anniyan  - Ask Laska song kick starts with Anniyan's Kumari song which was shot in Holland Tulip festival. Here we have a few European dancers in a park shaking their legs in the foreground.

'Oru Koodai Sunlight' from Sivaji + 'Kannum Kannum Nokia' from Anniyan - Shankar has tried modern concepts a few times in Kannum Kannum Nokia from Anniyan and Oru Koodai Sunlight from Sivaji. He blended both these themes in the first saranam of Ask Laska where he transports the audience to a modern looking colorful glass pane walls.

'Sahana Saaral' from Sivaji - The song then moves on to a glass palace theme which he had done successfully in Sivaji for Sahana song. Here, they may have shot this sequence at one of the Botanical gardens in Europe with a few western guys dressed as soldiers.

'Andangkaka' from Anniyan - Final saranam used the theme from Anniyan's Andangkaka. This was the only one immediately identifiable among the masses with entire train painted/plastered with ethnic images.

Overall, interesting effort by Shankar to picturize a song on his song concepts. He seems to have intentionally played it down a bit to make sure this song doesn't stand out and overpower rest of the movie.

Did Shankar achieve what he had set out to do in "Ask Laska"?
