Bombay Velvet release pushed to next year

The highly anticipated project 'Bombay Velvet' starring Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma in lead roles is directed by Anurag Kashyap. The film was initially slated for release on November 28, 2014. The film release has now been pushed to next year. Bombay Velvet will hit the screens in May 2015. The VFX work and post production work for the film require more time and hence the film release has been postponed.

According to a leading tabloid, Ranbir said, "We are very proud of Anurag's vision of Bombay Velvet and want to put the best product out. The film's VFX is taking time and hence we have decided to move to May. We don't want to do a hasty job."

The period drama has Ranbir Kapoor playing a street fighter who goes on to become the manager of a jazz club by the same name. Anushka plays a top jazz singer from the 1950s. Raveena Tandon and Karan Johar are also part of the cast. Bombay Velvet is co-produced by Phantom Films and Fox Star Studios.
