Its Entertainment Songs Music Review - “It’s mildly entertaining!”
Anup Pandey
Entertainment is directed by debutant duo Sajid-Farhad. Akshay Kumar and Tamanna Bhatia play the lead roles. The film produced by Ramesh S. Taurani of Tips Industries Ltd. The film will hit the screens on August 8.
Music: Sachin-Jigar
1. Veerey Di Wedding
Veerey Di Wedding has very eclectic and relatively minimal arrangement than any regular Mika Singh song - subtle bass, not-at-all noisy EDM mixed with distortions, acapella like chorus. Surprisingly, good.
However, it’s remix version has little alterations in its pace and quite monotonous treatment to it.
2. Tera Naam Doon
This song is templatized on the earlier works of the duo composer in collaboration with Atif Aslam (Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya, Ramaiya Vastavaiya). But there they had quite layered arrangement, whereas this composition has a sense of hurry to it. Atif has a rare attraction attached to his voice which they eliminate by processing it. He sings most of the parts here, sideling the beautiful female vocals of Shalmali Kholgade.
3. Johnny Johnny
The composers whack it out with this one and go back to their Go Goa Gone territory. Going by the current Bollywood scene, this would have been an ideal Yo Yo Honey Singh number; but it is Priyal Panchal who owns it by rendering her cutesy voice to this nursery rhyme based song. Mayur Puri with his words perfectly tailored for this one makes this one a winner!
4. Teri Mahima Aprampar
A phrase from another nursery rhyme is borrowed here to construct yet another dance number of the soundtrack which brings two varied kind of singers for this one - Anushka Manchanda and Udit Narayanan. In 3 minutes 45 seconds of its length, the song is never let to grow and for whatever it is, is largely repetitive.
5. Nahin who Saamne
Led by strings and solo Atif Aslam, this roughly 2 minute piece is just an extension of Tera Naam Doon and remains a pointless one in the soundtrack.
Bottomline
In the times when dance number dominated albums have tend to become noisy and monotonous, Sachin-Jigar experiments in each one of such tracks here and just satisfies to entertain.
