Huma Qureshi to romance John Abraham in Sanjay Gupta's Mumbai Saga 


 

Huma Qureshi who made her debut with 'Gangs of Wasseypur' has been roped in as the female lead in Sanjay Gupta’s ambitious gangster flick ‘Mumbai Saga’. The film stars John Abraham, Anil Kapoor, Sonu Sood and Manoj Bajpai in the lead roles.

 

According to reports, director Sanjay Gupta who was impressed by Huma's performances in Gangs of Wasseypur and Dedh Ishqiya had roped her in Mumbai Saga as she fitted the bill perfectly.

 

Huma Qureshi will be seen opposite John Abraham in the film. This is the first time she will be sharing the screen space with the actor. John Abraham plays an underworld don and she's his love interest. 

 

The film, which is expected to go on floors by the end of this year, is inspired by real-life events during the transition of Bombay to Mumbai. Mumbai Saga, which is set in the 80s and 90s, is said to revolve around the deep rooted web of underworld, politicians, police and mill owners. John will be seen essaying yet another grey role, while Anil Kapoor will be seen as a politician whose character is loosely based on the prominent political figure the Late Bal Thackeray.
