Audience reaction after watching Ugly at the Leh film fest

Ugly is a psychological thriller and stars Girish Kulkarni, Ronit Roy, Tejaswini Kolhapure, Vinit Kumar Singh, Surveen Chawla and Vipin Sharma in pivotal roles. The film directed by Anuragh Kashyap is set to hit the screens on September 19.

Anurag Kashyap’s “Ugly”, which created waves at the Cannes International Film Festival earlier this year, made its Asia premiere in Leh and left an audience full of filmmakers, army trainees and media, numb with its ‘ugliness’.

Anurag Kashyap, who was present for the screening, made an earnest request to the media, saying: “Please do not reveal anything about the film on social media or in the media as it will affect the film when it releases.”

Anurag Kashyap who had refused the mandatory anti-tobacco disclaimer for the film and filed a petition in the court, said that he had lost the case and all the legal hassles were over. Ugly will release on September 19, 2014 with the ‘Smoking is injurious to health’ logo.
