Exclusive Report - Rajinikanth and KS Ravikumar in Talks

With Kochadaiiyaan's upcoming release finally in sight on April 11, Rajinikanth is finally getting ready to sign his next director. The three directors who have been in contention all along the way are Shankar, KV Anand and KS Ravikumar. Latest industry news is that Rajinikanth is now leaning towards KS Ravikumar.

No takers for Shankar+Rajinikanth 200 Crore Project

Shankar had proposed to AGS and Eros a budget of Rs. 200 Crore for making Enthiran-2 with Rajinikanth using the latest CG technologies. AGS could not commit to such extravagant budget and Shankar refused to budge from his quoted budget. Sun Pictures is the only other big producer who has shown the experience of handling such a massive scale in Tamil industry. Due to current situations, it is believed this combination may not come to fruition. Rajini has moved on since there are no takers at the current budget expectations.

Rajinikanth circles back to KS Ravikumar

Since director KV Anand is now busy with Anegan until end of this year, Rajinikanth went back to his minimum guarantee director, KS Ravikumar. KS Ravikumar was slated to direct 'Rana' which was later dropped due to Rajini's health reasons. KS Ravikumar who is currently busy scripting for an upcoming Arya and Vishal multi-starrer movie dropped his current project and switched back his focus to developing an already narrated script for Rajinikanth.

It is believed that if Rajinikanth likes the script, this quickie project will begin in June 2014 and wrap up by end of this year. An official announcement is expected to be made before the first week of April 2014.
