Sankgeetha, wife of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay, has withdrawn her divorce petition at the Chengalpattu District Court, with the court confirming that the case has been closed. The development comes approximately six months after she filed for divorce.

In her original petition, Sankgeetha had alleged mental, physical and emotional neglect during her marriage, verbal disdain, and restrictions placed on her financial independence. She had also filed a separate plea seeking interim residential relief, requesting that Vijay be directed to allow her to remain at the family's Neelankarai residence until the divorce was finalised or equivalent accommodation provided.

Reports of a possible settlement between both parties had been circulating for some time, with speculation about a mutually agreed separation and financial arrangements. The withdrawal of the petition, however, suggests the couple may have resolved matters privately, contrary to those earlier speculations.

Vijay and Sankgeetha have been married for over two decades and share two children — son Jason Sanjay and daughter Divya Saasha. Neither party has issued a formal statement on the development.
