Vijay's swansong Jana Nayagan has joined the 300-crore club, with promoters confirming this Tuesday that the H Vinoth-directed film has crossed the milestone worldwide. Co-star Priyamani, who features alongside Mamitha Baiju and Pooja Hegde, shared a poster celebrating the achievement.

Notably, the film hit this mark in just 12 days, despite receiving mixed-to-negative reviews from critics and sections of the audience. Much of the pull is being credited to the film's status as Vijay's final acting project before his full-time shift into politics — a testament to his continued box-office draw even in an era where reviews heavily influence viewing choices.

Jana Nayagan becomes only the third film to cross the 300-crore mark globally, trailing behind Vijay's own Leo (2023) and The Greatest of All Time, which remain his highest grossers to date. The film is now expected to surpass Suriya's Karuppu — currently at around 310 crore — and become the highest-grossing Tamil film of 2026.

The numbers also validate producer Venkat K Narayana's confidence in Vijay's star power. Ahead of the film's release, the KVN Productions owner had noted that audiences in Tamil Nadu see Vijay as one of their own, often watching his films regardless of critical reception.
