"My Childhood Crush Since Ghajini" - Mamitha Baiju on Suriya

PUBLISHED DATE | 03/Aug/2026

At the audio launch of Vishwanath and Sons, actor Mamitha Baiju opened up about what it means to share screen space with Suriya, admitting he's been her childhood crush ever since Ghajini and that working with him felt like living out a dream many fans share.

She recalled once missing a chance to collaborate with him earlier, calling this film a blessing that finally made it happen. Speaking warmly of the experience, she praised his approach to scenes, calling him both an inspiration and a true gentleman, and said she felt genuinely fortunate for the opportunity.

In the film, Suriya plays a well-off single father whose much younger employee, played by Mamitha, falls for him — setting up a story built around themes of intergenerational romance. The cast also includes Radikaa Sarathkumar and Raveena Tandon, marking the latter's return to Tamil cinema after roughly 25 years, her last appearance being in the Kamal Haasan-starrer Aalavandhan (2001). Rounding out the cast are Nasser, Sudha, Raghu Babu, Sunil Reddy, Bhavani Sri, Viva Harsha, Kaali Venkat, George Maryan, Hyper Aadhi, Srija Ravi, Sarvadaman Banerjee, Mathew Varghese, Kalyani Natarajan, Karate Karthik, and Master Charvik.

The film is produced by Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, and presented by Srikara Studios. Alongside composer GV Prakash, the technical team includes cinematographer Nimish Ravi, editor Navin Nooli, and production designer Banglan.

Vishwanath and Sons releases in theatres on August 14.
