Venky Atluri Promises a Wholesome Family Entertainer With Vishwanath and Sons

At the audio launch of Vishwanath and Sons on Sunday, director Venky Atluri spoke confidently about the film's emotional pull, calling it a wholesome family entertainer offering a fresh perspective on relationships.

The filmmaker got emotional recalling how the project came together, describing it as a long-held dream coming true. He shared that back in 2023, when asked who he'd like to work with, he'd named Suriya — and now, years later, that wish has become reality. He also recounted narrating the story to producer Rajasekar Pandian, who was moved to tears and immediately called Suriya to greenlight the film on the spot. Suriya himself came on board just two days later after hearing the narration.

Venky described the film's set as feeling more like a family gathering than a workplace. He spoke warmly of Mamitha Baiju, saying she felt like family rather than a co-star, and praised the camaraderie among the cast — particularly highlighting Radikaa Sarathkumar's warmth toward everyone, her sibling-like bond with Suriya, and her playful chemistry with Sunil on set.

Urging audiences to watch the film with their families rather than just as fans, Venky promised a heartwarming theatrical experience. Keeping expectations grounded, he joked that while he wasn't making big claims, the under-two-hour runtime would guarantee at least 100 minutes of entertainment.

Without giving too much away, he teased a standout emotional-comedy stretch built around the relatable, awkward moment of parents discovering their child's mischief — centered on Suriya and Radikaa's dynamic — promising a ten-minute segment audiences will enjoy.

He also described the film as a fresh, new-age love story with a climax he believes audiences haven't seen before, expressing hope that the film would resonate widely. Wrapping up, he credited the positive people around him for shaping his journey and success.
