Rumours have been circulating for a few days now that Suriya has lent his voice to a track in his upcoming Tamil-Telugu film Vishwanath and Sons, and the film's composer GV Prakash has now put those rumours to rest by confirming it himself on social media. He also revealed that the song will drop on July 23 — timed to coincide with Suriya's birthday.

The news has understandably got fans buzzing online. This wouldn't be Suriya's first time singing on a film soundtrack either — he's lent his voice to several tracks over the years, with 'Ek Do Teen' from 2014's Anjaan being among the most memorable. He's also featured alongside brother Karthi on 'Cha Cha Charey' from Party, and has vocal credits on the Soorarai Pottru theme (and its Telugu counterpart Aakaasam Nee Haddhu Ra), plus 'Love Detox' from last year's Retro.

As for the film itself, Vishwanath and Sons comes from Lucky Baskhar director Venky Atluri and centers on a romance between an older man, played by Suriya, and a younger woman, played by Mamitha Baiju. The cast also includes Radikaa Sarathkumar and Raveena Tandon in key roles — marking Raveena's return to Tamil cinema after 2001's Aalavandhan and to Telugu cinema after 2014's Pandavulu Pandavulu Tummeda. South Indian audiences will also recognize her as the Prime Minister of India from Prashanth Neel's KGF: Chapter 2, opposite Yash.

The film is jointly produced by Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, and presented by Srikara Studios. Nimish Ravi handles cinematography, Navin Nooli is on editing duty, and Banglan leads production design.

Vishwanath and Sons is slated to release on August 14, a Friday.
