Director Vikraman has released another unreleased song from his shelved version of Unnai Ninaithu, which originally featured Vijay before the actor opted out of the project and was replaced by Suriya. The newly unveiled song, titled Ootyku Poo Ethukku, features vocals by Tippu, music by Sirpy and lyrics by NA Muthukumar. This follows the release of Ennai Thalattum six months ago from the same shelved version.

Vikraman noted in the song description that the footage was filmed over 25 years ago and that the original high-quality audio and video masters are no longer available. "What you're watching is the best version we could preserve," he wrote. The video describes Vijay as 'Ilayathalapathy' and offers what the makers call "a young Vijay in a never-seen-before avatar." The director said the release was prompted by persistent requests from fans and well-wishers.

Laila, who was part of the original project with Vijay, continued as the female lead in the Suriya version of the film that eventually released.
