Ashwin Kumar's next film, titled Good News, was launched on Thursday with a ceremonial first shot called by director Vijay, and director Bala switching on the camera. Actor Arya attended as a special guest.

Directed by debutant Nagendra Murugan, a former associate of Pandiraj, the film stars Ashwin Kumar alongside Jayaram and newcomer Kalyani Anil, with supporting cast including Asha Sarath, Muthukumar and others. Siddhu Kumar composes the music, with Praveenkumar on cinematography and Arjune Babu editing. The film is produced by Saivinoth Jayakumar under Movietron Production.
