PUBLISHED DATE | 22/May/2026

Filmmaker Mari Selvaraj has publicly praised Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay's newly formed coalition cabinet, expressing hope that the government would uphold the values of social justice. Taking to X, the director wrote that the cabinet structure instills faith in social justice and extended his congratulations and warm regards to the CM.

Known for his unflinching portrayal of Dalit struggles in his films, Mari Selvaraj made clear his expectations from the new government. He singled out the inclusion of young-generation ministers, Scheduled Caste and minority representatives, and coalition party ministers as reasons for optimism, signing off with "May the people's services flourish."

The post comes days after Mari Selvaraj met DMK leader MK Stalin and Udhayanidhi Stalin, sharing pictures on social media and conveying his best wishes to Udhayanidhi on his new role as Leader of the Opposition. It is worth noting that when TVK won the assembly elections, Mari had initially expressed sadness over DMK's loss before going on to congratulate Vijay and his party.
