A tragic accident on the sets of Rajinikanth's Jailer 2 at Adityaram Film City in Chennai has claimed the life of a young crew member. Karthikeyan, a 28-year-old electrician from Salem, passed away due to electrocution while working on preparations for filming on Thursday.

The accident occurred while work on a large house set was underway. After being electrocuted, Karthikeyan lost consciousness, prompting crew members to immediately attempt resuscitation. Unfortunately, he could not be revived. The Kanathur police have initiated an investigation into the incident.

An engineering graduate who had moved to Chennai with dreams of making it in cinema, Karthikeyan's passing has cast a shadow of grief over the film industry.

Jailer 2, directed by Nelson and produced by Sun Pictures, had wrapped filming in late April. The film features Ramya Krishnan, Shivarajkumar, Mohanlal, and Yogi Babu reprising their roles from Jailer (2023), with Anirudh composing the music.
