Composer Sai Abhyankkar set the internet buzzing by sharing a candid black-and-white photo with Dhanush, signalling that the music work for D55 is well underway. The caption — a simple "#D55" paired with a chef and firecracker emoji — said everything without saying much.

This isn't the first hint either. Back in February, Sai had teased that he is putting together a "special album" for the film, expressing his excitement about collaborating with both Dhanush and director Rajkumar Periasamy. He also revealed that the album will carry a mix of high-energy dance numbers and heartfelt romantic tracks — a package that fits Dhanush's range perfectly.

D55 boasts a powerhouse ensemble with Mammootty, Sai Pallavi, and Sreeleela alongside Dhanush. Sai Pallavi reunites with Dhanush after Maari 2 (2018) and with Rajkumar Periasamy following their blockbuster Amaran collaboration. Sreeleela steps into Tamil cinema again after Parasakthi, while Mammootty makes a long-awaited Tamil comeback, seven years after the acclaimed Peranbu (2019).

On the film's premise, Rajkumar Periasamy had earlier shared that while Amaran celebrated a decorated war hero, D55 shifts focus to everyday unsung heroes who quietly exist within society — with Dhanush's character representing one such figure.
