The leak of Jana Nayagan has triggered widespread concern across the industry, with filmmaker Vignesh Raja calling the incident “painful” and “scary.”
Speaking in a recent interview, the Kara director revealed that the team took immediate precautions after hearing about the leak. “Once we got the news, we removed all the Kara footages we had stored on Google Drives,” he said, highlighting the growing fear around digital security.
Vignesh added that filmmaking involves trust and delegation, making such incidents even more alarming. He also stressed the importance of audiences supporting films through legal means, noting that the effort behind making films should be respected.
The incident has reignited conversations around piracy, with several prominent names from the industry voicing concern and urging strict action. Directed by Vignesh Raja, Kara is set to release on April 30 and stars Dhanush alongside Mamitha Baiju, KS Ravikumar, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Karunaas, and Jayaram.
