Superstar Rajinikanth has condemned the leak of Vijay’s Jana Nayagan, calling for strict action against those responsible.

Reacting to the incident on X, Rajinikanth said the online leak of the film has caused “shock and pain,” and urged film bodies and the government to intervene. “Film associations must raise their voice against this, and the government must identify those responsible and impose severe punishment. Crimes like this shouldn't continue hereafter,” he wrote.

The development comes after portions of the film surfaced online on April 9, followed by the alleged leak of the full film. The source of the leak is yet to be identified.

The incident has drawn widespread condemnation from across the film industry, with several celebrities expressing support for the makers. Written and directed by H. Vinoth, Jana Nayagan marks Vijay’s final film before his full-time entry into politics. The film also stars Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, and Bobby Deol in key roles.
