Filmmaker Vignesh Shivan has finally opened up about his fallout with actor-producer Dhanush, following their ongoing legal dispute over the alleged unauthorised use of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan BTS footage in his wedding documentary with Nayanthara.

In a recent interaction, Vignesh said he continues to hold Dhanush in high regard as an actor and spoke emotionally about their past bond. “His birthday is on July 28, the same day my father passed away. I always see my father in Dhanush sir,” he shared.

Addressing the rift, Vignesh described the situation as unfortunate and difficult to explain. “If you lose someone who was once in good terms with you, it is a shame. Somewhere, something must have gone wrong,” he said, calling it his “biggest loss.”

The director also acknowledged Dhanush’s role in his career, stating that he wouldn’t be where he is today without their collaborations. He recalled working closely with him for over two years during Velaiyilla Pattathari.

On the professional front, Vignesh Shivan is gearing up for the release of Love Insurance Kompany, starring Pradeep Ranganathan, SJ Suryah, Krithi Shetty, Yogi Babu, and Gouri Kishan.
