The trailer of Carmeni Selvam has been unveiled ahead of its April 3 release, offering a glimpse into an emotional and grounded narrative.
The over two-minute trailer features Samuthirakani as Selvam, a car driver working for a wealthy man played by Gautham Vasudev Menon. Driven by aspirations of a better lifestyle and pressured by his wife (played by Lakshmi Priya), Selvam falls into debt and is eventually pushed into committing an unlawful act.
What follows—and the consequences of his actions—form the core of the story, which will unfold upon release.
The trailer hints at a relatable drama centred on family, money, and the pursuit of happiness, themes that resonate strongly with middle-class audiences. With sharp dialogues and an engaging setup, the film looks to continue the trend of small, content-driven successes.
Directed by Ram Chakri, the film is produced by Arun Rangarajulu under the Pathway Productions banner, with Sree Saravanan serving as creative producer.
The ensemble cast includes Abhinaya, Karthik Kumar, Badava Gopi, Madhumitha, Arjunan, Sankara Narayan V, Haritha Parakod, Kothandam, and Karan Chakravarthi.
In a unique move, the film’s music is composed by Musicloud Studio and Technologies. The technical crew also includes cinematographer Yuvraj Dakshan, editors Jagan RV and Dinesh S, and production designer Shankar.
