Breaking: Madras High Court Clears Legal Hurdle for Jana Nayagan Censor Process

PUBLISHED DATE | 10/Feb/2026

Justice P. T. Asha of the Madras High Court has allowed #JanaNayagan to withdraw its writ petition, effectively clearing the legal hurdle for the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to proceed with the Revising Committee (RC).

As reported earlier, the film had already been submitted to the Revising Committee for viewing. The latest court order is understood to be a procedural step from the production side, formally withdrawing the case to ensure the censor process continues without any legal impediments.

The team is yet to receive the censor certificate, and the film’s release date is expected to be announced only after the Revising Committee clearance is officially issued.
