There has been a clarification regarding Dhanush’s much-anticipated Ilaiyaraaja biopic. Contrary to earlier speculation about a change in director, Arun Matheswaran continues to remain on board and will helm the project. The filmmaker is expected to begin work on the biopic after completing his current commitment with Lokesh Kanagaraj’s film. An official announcement on the timeline is awaited, with shooting likely to commence only by April 2027.

Meanwhile, Dhanush has also locked another high-profile biographical project. The actor will portray former President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam in a biopic to be directed by Om Raut. This ambitious project is expected to go on floors towards the end of 2027 or sometime in 2028.
