Sun Pictures, the production banner behind Coolie has now officially announced that the Rajinikanth starrer has grossed a whopping Rs. 404 Cr+ in just 4 days of theatrical release (August 14-August 17, 2025). With its 4-day opening weekend collection worldwide, Coolie is now the Tamil film with the highest opening weekend gross.

The record was previously held by Vijay starrer Leo (2023). Interestingly both Coolie and Leo are written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, and have Anirudh Ravichander for music.
